Tobacco gives you lung cancer because of the micro-damage of your lung cells all the tar and other byproducts causes. That damage creates malformed telomere which then creates the cancer cells in your lungs after sufficient reproduction to outweigh immune destruction of cancer cells.
Cannabis does not produce as much tar and other crap like tobacco, so what matters is how THC interacts with cell reproduction in your lungs. I'm not a pulmonologist or oncologist, so I just don't know enough to give you the right answer. :02_shrug:
