Motorsport vehicles are usually only produced in very small amounts (usually just enough units for homologation and to last the racing season) and these vehicles have a very short operating time (only a few hours per week at most).
Making them "greener" does not change anything.
I definitely agree that vehicles that are produced in high amounts and operated for long hours (like your average road car and truck) should be made as energy efficient as possible.
