The SPLC business model is hilarious:

1. Make a list of the same insane White Nationalists (blogs) that the FBI uses to justify its budgets.
2. Come out with some report about how HATE IN AMERICA is rising or getting more violent or watching television or something.
3. Rake in tons of money from scared bubbies and suburban soft-hearted neurotic do-gooders.
4. Pay salaries, snort cocaine*, repeat.
