There's a straw man right there. If the choice is between 'people go without meat' and 'ban private jets' absolutely, ban private jets first by a mile. But that is a false dichotomy. This thread is mostly not that question - this thread is mostly between people who don't believe climate change is even real, and even if it was that we shouldn't do *anything* about it. The "what to do" part is a work in progress, of course but if you want to go into that that's better topic for another thread where detail s can actually be hashed out

They are. That's why they are funding controlled opposition against climate taxes in countries like canada - because they are paying more than 0$ while average people are getting significant carbon credits to offset the *chance* that they might pay some carbon tax. ( There's problems with canada's approach of course - methane and forest fires should be more included in the calculations. But getting there requires people understand that climate change is real in the first place, and that we are having a hand in it )
