She cooks and cleans and sews because that was how she was raised and how she raised her family. We're both older now. I pitch in to help out because I don't like seeing her do all the work.

We have "socks night" together where we sew up holes in socks that we accumulated over the past months. It's quite wonderful. We listen to music in the background, chitchat together and compete and tease each other at who does the best mending.

And she has people in her circle who spite her for this simple joy in life. They never understand that this is why they are alone.
