@BowsacNoodle @DEERBLOOD @SuperLutheran yeah, it takes about a year or so and you just stop getting invited to stuff. after a little while, people will still invite you just to be nice but they know you'll probably not be able to, gradually they just stop bothering. I did the same thing when some of my friends had kids before me, now I'm on the other side. this restructuring of society that made things like this is a really insidious way of fragmenting people at a low level, I have almost no friends now when I used to have dozens, and all because the modern way of life drives people all into their own separate paths instead of encouraging them to do it together. something as simple as 'oh my friends are having kids, but I'm just not ready yet so I'm gonna wait a few years' is enough to gradually wear down good friendships if you're not careful.
