@realcaseyrollins @magicalthinking @nicholas @icare4america @Zennagain if the fetus is a child, we need to start measuring age from date of conception, start collecting child support in those cases, Medicaid needs to kick in, etc etc. It gets REALLY messy if you want to legally classify an unborn or severely undeveloped clump of human-derived cells as a legal person. This is part of the problem why nobody wants to really double down and deal with it because they'll be forced to legally enshrine concepts that will have such severe consequences. It's simpler to just say "abortion bad" and hand-wave away the root of the problem.
