Again though, this is only about 35% of taxes, and the 35% that most heavily leans on the rich instead of the poor. If you look at that other post's image you'll also see that on a state level the middle 60% get fucked the hardest on state taxes proportionally.
But basically a tl;DR is that the 40% number comes from picking the one and only tax where the rich are taxed heavily and the poor are exempt, while ignoring all the other tax sources which make up the majority of government income which either poor people aren't exempt from (social security) or actually impact poor people more (property and sales)
