Until someone I follow replied to your post, I wasn't able to reply from GNU Social. On Mastodon 3 if I read your post on your instance and I hit reply it would ask me to enter my webfinger gnu2@gnusocial.jp and it just worked. In masto4 they took that option out and now ask me to copy/paste the link to the post. It works from other mastodon instances, but not from GNU Social.
