- Embed this noticeWe have community property here. That only really includes property / assessions that resulted from labor, so not inheritance or gifts from others, nor anything owned before marriage or after separation.
To the extent that support is available, it's on the assumption that one spouse got to where he or she was based on community labor, but this is also why it's not forever. We recognize that the community did end and that any tail must end as well.
Now separate property can be converted to community accidentally if comingled. You can also go either way by agreement (transmutation).
