I disagree with this sentiment in general, and here in particular it sounds like a threat. "Treat pedophiles well or they're going to go rape a child."

The reality is that most people who *do* get hurt can manage to keep themselves from lashing out at people. Hurting a pedophile's feelings is not going to be the underlying cause of them going out and raping a child.

I think it is well and good to peacefully have these sorts of discussions with them, but you can't let them walk all over you and you can't just take everything they say at face value. (This is true of any group.)
