It's very healthy to question me or the 'Mask Group' why we're acquiring instances and applications related with Fediverse/Mastodon. Actually it's more than welcome. In the end we don't need any philosopher king. Don't trust me, trust the community. :)

@Sujiyan I'll bite. Why are you acquiring mastodon instances, and what will you do with them?

@socrates1024 first keep them alive! Gov agencies are around for large instance for a while. Secondly -- lots these major instances are on AWS etc. So more decentralization is need though the path is unclear. Also I think the current fediverse ID system is not DID - so some kind of cryptographic solution can be involved. W3C DID work as well - We happen to have a home brewed one next.id testing these days.

@socrates1024 yes -e2e dms are much needed. Problem now - mastodon is email like system so some PKI is needed and if we ends up like PGP it’s just too geeky.

Maybe we should turn this into an academic project??

@Sujiyan I think my top wish list is
      - e2e dms
      - an escape hatch option using a blockchain so I can flee from antagonistic instance host,
      - client support for peeking beyond fediblock boundary
      - some support for algo recommendations maybe experimented with at the instance level.
Most of these could be done with an overlay client w/o needing instances, instances def help

@ntnsndr yes - some kind of SBT and DID like Gitcoin will definitely help! Need to assign keypairs to everyone for now though. talking with @socrates1024 on brainstorming:):)

@Sujiyan One way or another, you'd have to clarify the power users have in relationship to the company, right? Or is the company structured through an on-chain DAO? If so, maybe something like Gitcoin Passport could help with proof of personhood.

Elon's random-ass polls are definitely not the model. That is a pure dictatorial power-play. He is fully in charge, in most ways that matter.

      @Sujiyan

One question for me is -- what is the difference between SujiTech, Social Coop, and Mask Group?

Why so many differently named entities?

Sounds like shell companies which will smell shady to most people. (Like, say, X Holdings II Inc.: https://www.gobankingrates.com/money/business/elon-musk-forms-three-x-holdings-twitter-bid/ )

@ssfckdt is quiet accurate here https://golden.com/wiki/Suji_Yan-K44BXKE/structured_data

There are no ‘Group’ but since this is the most awareness commercial brand we have been regarded as a group.
The venture business is under ‘bonfire Union’.
The non profits and donations are under Mask DAO.
