Wasn't there some type of freeze plug or something or other that would drain the molten material if the power went out? -

One of my favorite stories from the Cold War arms race was how America got so shook by the MiG-25 that they designed and built the greatest fighter platform of all time to counter it, and then later found out it was a gigantic piece of shit that could reach its purported top speed precisely once before melting its own engines. -
