Hi fedifrens, how are you? IM BACK... maybe... dont quote me.

Are we all enjoying the slow descent into a trashy, human-hostile, locked-down internet (or is that outernet)? I have been limiting the outernet stuff and sticking to only private communictions (XMPP, Tor, i2p, BtcPay Server). I am trying to live a low-profile, and boring and ordinaary bitcoin life.

What are you doing to bring down the US pedo-dollar, today?

DID YOU KNOW you cant spell #pedodollar without 'dodo'? #fascinating

    #boringBitcoinLife

      @frogzone Hello there!

I'm now working on an offline-first fedi app: https://codeberg.org/silverpill/minimitra

It's very similar to the mitra you already know, but it runs on your device, as a client.

Connection still seems to be poor to this server atm for some reason, took 40 minutes to see that a post was accidentally published prematurely. Thanks @silverpill for your suggestion in August last year (when I last came on) to try tuba for improved latency handling, I will try that. Not sure when I'll be able to tho.

@nimda @silverpill @gabriel i may be putting myself out there to volunteer towards webdev for a fork into the i2p network. i really am very disappointed by infrastructure choices made at i2p. i should have seen the warning signs.... the degree to which prominent people in the i2p community were embracing datacenter slop, for example, maybe i should have tried harder to stay connected and ridicule such phony, pathetic and ultimately tacky interactions. At this stage im willing to even suggest the i2p team have been replaced by slop, and fixing the situation may require looking back years.

embracing cloudflare/prism/mitm attack as a service cant have happened overnight.

@nimda @silverpill @gabriel omg even stormycloud's website is cloudGlare. When dd this takover by prism happen? maybe the real question is how did their get the domain i2p.net in the first place???

seriously.... i turn my back for only 11-18 months and THIS happens, roghan jolly gosh.

it may be time to fork 12p?
i3p (invisible internet AND INFRASTRUCTURE project). not even joking. appeasement to prism is offensive. notice how they have lost the link to their fediverse on their website and also lost the rss.

dear @i2p@mastodon.social what sort of direction is this....? this is not leadership imv sry. not sry.

@nimda @silverpill Dear GOD! the geti2p.net website redirects to a cloud(Glare)flare server and sent my firewall off. i will need to completely reexamine how i introduce i2p to ppl now. bloody heck.

no more i2prouter for newbies? damnit. i knew this day would come when PRISM would control i2ps on-ramps. Maybe its for the best..... java/oracle/cia etc

maybe i should start devoting volunteering time to the rust implementation of i2p or something, if that community even exists, the i2pd crowd are on m$-git(Scr)ub last i looked. Maybe until the rust implementation is done, someone will want to mirror the i2p.net site from a non-CAGeMAFiA server??? @gabriel

is the domain name i-too-pee.net taken? 😆

You just click search and then you put the URLs in there. You can also use FediBBS if you want, where you just type `, $url`. Hold on, I'll get you a copy of it.

@frogzone I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

@p i mostly write gnu-linux, very occasionally i write libre-linux or linux libre to mix things up. The reason i occasionally mix things up liek that is I understand there is a non-gnu based fully-libre distro out there, according even to the gnu website, iirc.

What you wrote about mirroring via fedi was interesting, do fedi instance now keep enitre copies of webpages when u share them? how does one use that to access the mirrored copy?

No, same facility as regular posts. If a blog post can be convinced to act like an ActivityPub object, then searching gets the object to federate.
