@grey I really think people need to think deeper about these issues because the stats we have are only the very 'tip of the iceberg' when I comes to the broader scope and scale of the problems driving the trends.

Which is what makes it so horrifying. People who know the stakes can only point to stats that the experts dismiss as "taken out of context" while the people just watch actual issues get worse and worse before their eyes.

I hate how in the age of such extreme top down tyranny and abuse academia and other similar institutions get basically no blame for ushering in so much of it, despite carrying water for it for decades.

Have you tried FreeTube? I wouldn't say it's better than NewPipe but you can import/export back and forth.

But that's somewhat part of my calculus there. I think Bitcoin's cycles were entirely driven in a top-down way and that the entire financial side of the space was manipulated. I assume it began for political reasons and will end for political reasons as well.

For example some people believe cryptocurrency as a whole was a psyop to distract people from owning PMs and/or normalize digital currenecy. I don't fully buy into either thesis but don't fully dismiss them either.

What little I do understand leads me to believe that whatever the machinations are, they're much more convoluted than just "Bitcoin was made for X"
