@dlakelan @ZachWeinersmith Bolt isn’t a hybrid. Chevy’s hybrid was the Volt. (Still stopped.) Chevy marketing’s single letter difference did no one any favors. Bolt is cheapest entry level Chevy’s Model 3 competitor. Its shutdown was just for retooling for model upgrades but apparently shareholders don’t like “retooling” this decade so they sold it as shutdown instead. (Again marketing doing no one favors in the few months it looked like GM only cared about premium EVs.)

Max (max@smeap.com)'s status on Sunday, 24-Mar-2024 00:38:33 JST Max @dlakelan @ZachWeinersmith Hybrids are up in sales but mostly the only company selling hybrids now is Toyota (again), late to the EV party, and mostly just meaning that Prius is having a good year again (back to pre-Tesla numbers almost, to my understanding) despite looking out of date and Toyota best almost EV in years where they don’t have good EVs but are still a trusted US brand. Old marketing momentum
