@hakui I showed both this and my new irasuto to a few people IRL and they all seemed to be impressed by this one. I didn't show them at the same time, so it wasn't really a comparison, but お茶の時間 wasn't as impressive. So I was thinking what makes this irasuto so much better and these were the exact points that came into my mind. In conversation from freesoftwareextremist.com permalink -

@hakui I've been putting more and more focus on composition since the last few irasuto, but I guess I'm still not good at it. In conversation from freesoftwareextremist.com permalink -

@hakui Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe not the actual photography, but at least read about it. In conversation from freesoftwareextremist.com permalink -

@p I usually reference Debian stable for dependencies version (it usually means that all the Debian derivatives and most of the other distros will at least have that version). I used Go 1.11 for bloat because it was the version available on buster and also because it had modules support. gccgo was maintained by iant, not sure if he stopped working on it. The doc page mentions that the latest version supports the full stdlib for Go 1.18.

>concurrent map iteration and map write
>maps implementing their own locking
It's been a while since I followed the Go releases. I just read the 1.24 release notes, it does include a new implementation of map but it doesn't seem to be concurrent safe.

I'd say go ahead with it if it seems useful. The upcoming Debian release is going to have 1.24.In conversation from freesoftwareextremist.com permalink Attachments

@sun I posted about it a few months ago (also tagged you in the thread), feld-san also knows about it. But there's no fix yet.
