I have a humble pair of the original SR60 and a newer SR60x. Best cans for the money, and nowhere near that kind of cheddar.
Prestige Series for the win.

@scm @ai6yr It's been years since I played around with vinyl, but I still have a pair of 1200's and I think I have elliptical on them.

Okay, another stupid question. Conical or Elliptical cartridge, and how often do you need to replace these? (ie should I be buying 2 replacements instead of just one?)

(I guess I should look at the other record player that is stashed in the relatives garage first, too, lol).

The other record player is a Technics SL-QD 33, which requires a preamp. I don't know how it compares to the other record player, performance wise. (Audio-Technica AT-LP2D USB, which has USB and built in preamp).

@ai6yr I think the Technics SL-1200 is still the standard DJ record player (as much as vinyl DJs still exist)
I see working SL-QD33s on eBay for around $300
