     It was possible to boot GNU/Linux on the PS3 via the OtherOS function, but that restricted access to the GPU and other components and when someone found a way to bypass such restrictions, Sony sabotaged the OtherOS feature with an update.
     
     Many computers have come with GNU/Linux long before the PS3.

     @Dudebro @merchantHelios the year of the “Linux desktop” already happened twice and it was when the PS3 released and again when the steam deck released because nobody wants “Linux” they want a gaming machine and they don’t care what it runs

     Debian, the proprietary OS, will only ever get more proprietary - it won't ever get less proprietary.
     
     Now systemd is proprietary software, as development consists of getting LLM's to copy-paste slop, Debian will fight even harder to ensure you can't use another init system.
