>piss off your 90% of your customers to get more investment (shareholders prioritize money now over long term success and customer good will)
>deliberately refrain from making a product that's actually durable because then people can buy it once and use it forever, meaning they won't come back to buy it again
>sell an entry level product so bad and unusable out of the box (e.g. HP Stream laptops) that it destroys your brand image in the eyes of average people forever just to satisfy sales volume targets set by executives who barely know what products the company even sells

I sure love how apps arbitrarily deciding to not send me notifications is actively ruining my social life. I missed multiple opportunities to hang out with friends because of that just in the past week, and this is on top of rarely getting to see them in the first place.
Fuck phones and fuck "apps" and fuck non-deterministic UX. I never had this problem 20 years ago. When I wanted push notifications, I got push notifications. Not 2% of the time like on smartphones or modern desktop OSes, but 100% of the time. Why is it so hard to just respect user settings? And you know the really funny part? Junk apps never seem to fail to flood your notifications with useless garbage despite you turning that shit off. But the apps you actually need? They'll only notify you once during a full orbital period of Neptune because fuck you that's why.
Going to throw all of my electronics in the trash can and set it on fire, then move into a cabin in the woods and live out the rest of my life in perfect isolation from the rest of the world. Society is a scam.

It's kinda funny how right-wing and center-right people like Bryan Lunduke are more ideologically aligned with free software, user freedom and "sticking it to the man" in general, supporting underdog projects like Xlibre, while FOSS people who are nominally on the Left tend to support IBM/RedHat-controlled technologies like systemd, GNOME, Flatpak etc. as well as Canonical's Rust rewrites of the coreutils, and consider people like Richard Stallman to be "chuds" and the GPL to be outdated or impractical.
I'm not making a judgement on whose choices are better objectively or who's morally right, I just find it really funny that this is the state of the affairs. We live in la-la land.

Somewhat of a counterpoint: What the autist misidentifies as "normies" are actually not normal people either. They're people with cluster B personality disorders. The reason the autist mistakes them for normal people is that they seem to be on top of nearly every social hierarchy. What the autist usually fails to notice is that they muscled their way in through manipulation tactics and that most normal people don't like them either and are afraid of provoking them.
