     @snacks @lebronjames75 this is crazy. i didn't know that magic eye images were a thing, i always assumed they were some crazy optical illusion you needed glasses to see. but i did eye focus exercises by imagining me staring at a mountain far away, and that immediately made the 3d image come out and it became insanely clear and sharp. it was a little uncanny, like i was adjusting the focus knob on a pair of binoculars. i kept adjusting the knob up and down until i eventually managed to tune it in, and then my brain did the rest of the work. it takes a lot of effort to maintain that focus though, if i move my head too much to see the 3d i break the illusion. very cool!!!

     @whirly @lebronjames75 try putting the screen close to your eyes and relax, move the screen away. once i go cross eyed like that it's way easier for me to adjust the overlap.
     It's actually a stupid good technique to find the difference between side by side images too. Every difference will shimmer

     @snacks @zonk glasses alter the sides of the eye's view upwards and downwards, breaking the 3D effect slightly due to pixels offsetting abnormally to your brain

     @whirly @snacks it requires complex multi muscle control that are never moved separately in normal day to day use, to move separately. i drew a little training photo in the other post; depth perception focus via lens flattening and the crossedness of the eyes need to move abnormally separately, if you cant do it today, wake up tomorrow and try again tomorrow; odds are youll succeed tomorrow then due to sleep reaffirming training of attempted muscle controls

     @whirly @lebronjames75 it also takes some getting used to to focus your eyes wrong for their position. You basically position your eyes as if the object was much closer/further away than it is and your brain needs to adjust
