    Hi #Forkiverse folks: thought you might like to know, you can follow both #Hardfork and #SearchEngine through the fediverse too.

    Follow the #Podcasts by following these two fediverse accounts that bridge the RSS feeds to the open social web.

    @1026613

    and

    @1371595

    You can follow and see each new episode, and share them over the Forkiverse, or the whole Fediverse.... cc: @pj @kevin @caseynewton

      @dave or @steven did I do something incorrect in linking to those two podcasts over the bridge?

      @com @tchambers That's why I asked to try
      "latest" or "rescan" command.

      Try know, I see the latest one:

      PD: After this you well get "new" episodes by the Fediverse, but you can't explore the old ones. You only see what the server sent you since you started following the bridge account.

      @DavidMarzalC @tchambers @5220235 Neither of them seem to be working correctly. The hard fork account was last updated a year ago, and the search engine one is empty.

      @tchambers had you tried to make a toot first with just:

      @5220235 latest

      So the account bridged it's created?

      Edited: or try to edit your toot in mine worked

      I think it might be that at least one activity pub actor needs to follow the podcast bridge account at least once to initialize it — and then from then on it updates?

      @DavidMarzalC Ok super helpful - so the order of things should create public post @ mentioning them… then later maybe follow the account after the first @ mention triggers the creation of the account? Then as they publish new episodes the account will populate from then on with one post per episode… did I get that correct?

      @tchambers Yes I think so. For sure you need 1 initial follower to create the account.

      As far as I know, the bridge could be working OK and could be normal that you only see new episodes when they are released.

      To check if the bridge it's working (or maybe too to create a new account bridged), you can/have to create a new public toot with just:

      @1026613 latest

      (for instance).
      And after that, you get a toot from that account with the latest episode, the bridge it's working.

      On the picture attached, "Search Engine" account it's created since 2023 and has 42 messages (that I cannot see, because I didn't follow the account).

      So if the problem it's that there is no info on the profile, the command "latest" or "rescan" can help.

      If the "problem" it's to expect that bridge account list all the episodes as toots, that just how bridge it's coded and could be working OK. That's my assumption given that I launch the "latest" command and it worked.

      Or I could be misreading your toots, and I'm missing something about your question.
