   Trans activists have hacked into the website of the Free Speech Union (FSU) and published a list of its donors online.

   A direct action group calling itself Bash Back said it had breached the FSU’s online security and was revealing the names of all those who had donated more than £50 over the past two years.

   Hours after the list of names appeared online, the FSU obtained an emergency injunction from the High Court, forcing the group to remove the donor details.

     @RadicalCartoons @Flick They also support men's 'right' to make unwanted sexual remarks to women who are just trying to get on with their day. Which is why I am in two minds about renewing my membership. Their sneery newsletter article about this initiative left me feeling quite uneasy about supporting them.

     @Flick They're crazed. The FSU supports all kinds of free speech, even a guy who was arrested for shouting "Fxxx Israel" at a march.

     @HebrideanHecate @Gnomeshatecheese @Flick Donors are not ordinary paid up members.
     They are rich people who give over & above because they believe in free speech.
     In early 2020, when FSU had only just started, I was only the 2nd "GC" woman they supported (Selina Todd was the first).
     
     A mystery FSU donor gave a bunch of the first few people a gift of £3000 each, as compo for loss of earnings. It was very welcome at the time. (I had to take early retirement, I still had 6 years until retirement, so obviously lost out in terms of pension input from my employer).

     @RadicalCartoons @HebrideanHecate @Flick The donors whose names have been leaked are probably not all rich people, since the news referred to those who donated over £50 in the past two years.

     I do hope the scheme falls flat on its face and discourages nobody from donating. Even if it's a small amount.

     Because nothing says you wish to persuade people to your cause by threatening them anyone who doesn't.
