I've got a serious problem brewing. I have zero appetite and I'm running 35 miles between Friday and Saturday races. I've only eaten one complete meal and a few snacks over the last 48 hours. Not normal at all for me. I'm a grazer. -

I'd love to see a national system that anyone can opt into at a sliding scale fee, which would protect vulnerable citizens, but trying to force private marketplace participation was just retarded in the bad way. Transparency in pricing would solve a lot of problems. Getting rid of the ridiculously litigious loopholes would also lower costs. We're eating their malpractice insurance premiums. -

Windows still starts on C. It's a joke too. There are certain programs that you have to install on C, like office or otherwise use convoluted work arounds. Linux and it's /dev and fs mounts just works better. -

I don't remember what the first PC I used was, but it had 4mb RAM, no mouse, a printer with paper with little holes on either side, and ran MS-DOS and an old GUI called IAMS (Instant Access Menu System) alongside and even older file explorer called XTree Gold which worked almost exactly like a command-line file explorer like Midnight Commander. -

I have pimiga running one on my x64s. I've played with aros too. Amiga is interesting, and was great for its time, but it's old tech relative to consumer use. Nothing really beats the modularity of *nix oses and their progeny now that they're available to the consumer for home use and have reasonable support. -

Yeah, that's the one I wanted to mention. But you already new about aros! And it was kinda interesting learning that all modern Apple Mac OS's are all based on the Darwin fork of BSD. And that, while there's Haiku which is a fork of BeOS based on the Linux kernel (I think?) there's also BeFree which is a fork of BeOS based on the BSD kernel (I think?). ??
