Some neighbor complained about “weeds” on my property. I asked them what the hell they were talking about they were talking about the sunflowers that popped up in my way out in the field behind my house. Like I don’t mow there or anything it’s just a filed. He said some nonsense about allergies.
wtf sunflowers are pretty. He knows I have influence with the hoa (like I am the hoa) but said that they were causing allergies).
I told him sorry they will die soon I’m not cutting them down, what the fuck is wrong with people?
Like they are kind of close to his property but not on his and they are sunflowers.
Plus we live out in the county but in a golf course community and all of of us have plenty of land like my house is not even close to his.
Say it with me…boomers need to go they are a fucking menace to all things…

@Jdogg247 start making HOA rules that make the color of his house a fineable offense, make rules that state he has to pay to have his roof inspected at his cost every year, etc. He will get the point.
Be corrupt is what I mean I guess. Corrupt for vengeance.
This may be an over reaction though lol.

@Leyonhjelm @echo I just think they look cool kind of like they belong in a field like exactly where they are…

@echo
Generally HOAs allow flowers and vegetable gardens. Sunflowers are both pretty and provide edible produce

I'm going to guess you tried and failed, or know someone who did?
I'm really glad my neighborhood doesn't have an HOA.

@djsumdog @Jdogg247 @MisterRogersSnapped Just because there's a federal law doesn't mean the HOA can't fine you every day until you "choose" to remove it.

@Jdogg247 @thebitchisback you sign a contract when you move in that you'll abide by organization rules or they can fine you or punish you in other ways. the rules are often stupid shit that's completely legal but busybodies don't like. some neighborhoods have super strict ones like you can't park a pickup truck in your driveway, only cars can, trucks have to be garaged with the door closed

@thebitchisback home owners association basically a collection of old people that selectively enforce retarded rules. I had an incident a month or so ago where I crashed my golf cart because they put in speed bumps without approval.
They went on and on I pulled the card that I am a founding member of the hoa and have an overriding vote on all things they do (I invested heavily in the company that built the community)
They had to tear out the speed bumps and now they are in fear of complaining to the hoa since I can override it so I get this kind of nonsense…

@thebitchisback yes we do the money goes to the maintenance and Jo keep of public areas and the common pool meeting area rec center, for me ins the golf clubhouse and pool but most of us have our own pool so it’s kind of stupid I am exempt but I think the others pay like $500 a month for the hoa fees (this is high even for America but I think it is because of the golf course)

@Jdogg247 such a strange concept for me, do people pay like a monthly or annual rate to be part of it?

@sun @thebitchisback my mom lives in a retirement community her house is paid off but her hoa is ow $750 a month it’s causing issues because most people there are on fixed income and when she bought the place for cash it was $250 a month.
Hoa are a boomer construct that they never really thought all the way though like most boomer things…

@thebitchisback no the renters don’t lay it directly when I rented out this place or had it on airbandb I paid the fees but factored that into the the rental price…

@Jdogg247 500/month wow. I'm shocked. Here we have body corporate a similar concept more for units/apartments. I'm trying to figure out how much a square foot compared to square metres for a house block size does that factor into it for the value of land cost. Like I wonder how much is the average cost per square foot.

@Jdogg247 my only other question is do renters have to pay this hoa?

I would have said it would be an over reaction until I read "we live out in the county"
Mother fucker is complaining about sunflowers when you live in a rural area? Even if people keep things mowed there are wild flowers everywhere fuck off with that shit.

@sun @Jdogg247 @thebitchisback The most important function of HOA for me is the maintenance of the shared facilities, such as runways and taxiways.
