See my previous remarks about GMail being the primary source of the spam I receive.

@Hoss I bet he went to my website instead of just buying a list of MX records in an Excel spreadsheet and plugging that into some program he downloaded.

@p @Hoss Every time you enable rspamd this kills an indian.

@rude @Hoss "Enable"?

@rude @Hoss I swear, smtpds shouldn't be allowed to use the "s", and I'm going to move my entire goddamn mail server to Plan 9. You know what they give you? There's no SpamAssassin or rspamd hook or whatever, there's no clamav hook, it just gives you a pipe and then you write a program that decides what to do with email when it is called, exactly like God intended. You wanna verify DKIM signatures? Write a fuckin' program that verifies DKIM signatures. This is how shit should have been from the beginning.

@p @Hoss Yeah, given how I tend to only receive a single copy of those it's probably manual.
While usually for mass-spam I receive like ~10 copies (some addresses are public, some are old addresses I used for pwned services).

@mint Shit, I got one of those today, too.

@kaia @p Dad was literally surprised married, one day he was grabbed from work and like "you are married now"
Though tbh he had no chance getting married if it wasn't like that lol,

@lanodan @Hoss If I get more from the same guy related to other sites, maybe. I suspect, though, that it's completely automated.

Perhaps you miscalculated the blindspots. 👀👀👀

@meeper @p how did that marriage work out?
-
Embed this notice
@p @lanodan @Hoss And I lied about only receiving that, as I once made a mistake of registering .us domain and not using a throwaway email for whois (as there's no privacy for it on that TLD), still getting some spam about SEO and other shit years after letting it expire.

@kaia @p I should add he did see my mom before, typically families visit each other and introduce each other and see if they are compatible.
Now my dad was extremely shy and probably autistic so he didn't talk much but the rest of our family was fine.
Honestly my mother was initially creeped out and sent some cousins and brothers to ask about him and learned he was a good and honest guy, and the family finalized everything while he was oblivious lol

@kaia @p Dad was initially extremely shy, he still is shy but he got much better.
It's pretty okay tbh, he is a little too strong on what he believes and is hard to get to listen to you, but he's genuinely well wishing and always tries to do the right thing

@mint @Hoss @lanodan I used Bitly--which did not even hash the passwords--when it was the only way to get a link to fit in a message on Twitter, and this was the source of most of this "i hack you" spam I've gotten.

@pernia @meeper @kaia Heritability 0.7.
When I was a teenager, I used to sometimes wander into Grandpa's office to see what he was doing. Usually he was studying Josephus or flipping through Strong's Concordance, and one time he's sitting there with a pencil and graph paper and a calculator and I asked what he was up to and he said he was designing another wing of the house. I asked when he was planning to build it, what it was for, etc., and he replied pretty quickly that he wasn't actually going to build it: "This notebook is full of designs for modifications to the house that I won't ever build. I just like to work out the designs, you know, try to minimize the cost of materials." And then he started telling me about different kinds of wood and heating systems and how to tap into the plumbing for the rest of the house.
I think if he'd been born a little closer to a computer, grandpa would have made a decent hacker. (For my own sake, I'm glad he wasn't, you know. Computers were taking off when he met my grandmother and I'm glad he was more interested in girls than machines when he was in his early 20s.)

@p definitely lists, I've had cases of a same spam email arriving on cock.li and goatse.email at pretty much the same time lol. Maybe these "Advertise up to 200 MILLION EMAILS WITH THE LOWEST PRICE! Immediate BOOM OF SALES!" things I've getting for the past few years are legit after all :thonk:
-

@shitpisscum Yeah, you know, if you receive spam from someone that purports to be good at spam, that's probably someone worth hiring, but if you get an email about qualified leads then that's probably bullshit.
If they're just selling the *list*, you'll have an easier time just getting the leaks yourself.
