     @reallyangry @PNS @BowsacNoodle something i really appreciated about it, and still look for in new boards is that little x1 or x4 slot above the main pci-e x16, since the slots below the gpu slot are blocked and useless, it's super handy.

     @lord_nougat @PNS @BowsacNoodle @HonkHonkBoom a dedicated piece of NAS hardware is more effiecient in terms of power use, but here's the thing, a desktop pc doesn't really draw tha tmuch power at idle, and a nas will only spool up if it's under load from you dumping lots of files which you won't do that often surely
     there's also nextcloud, which is a cloud backup service that you can run your own server for which i spose would be cool. and by run your own server, i mean you can run it locally i've looekd into it, but i just have an NFS share mounted in my computer if i wanna save stuff i jsut throw it in that folder lol

     I was figuring on setting up an NFS share with this thing, too. Great minds, as they say. Samba is all dumb and retarded via the silly little cheapo raspberry pi setup I got now. It does work, though.

     That was originally the idea. And I have all these enclosures and drives all laying around too... but I thought there was probably a more efficient option... although I have neither found this, nor even attempted much to look for anything. Being in between jobs makes me want to not spend money, so I should use what I got.

     @lord_nougat @PNS @BowsacNoodle @HonkHonkBoom i've had a thought that having a cheap formfactor pc that soley exists to log into my main pc with moonlight would be nice to have for the soap shop so ic an go back to experimenting with distros on my laptop it's like an 8core i7 and a decent mobile nvidia card could stand to have more ram, but i could upgrade that for like 50 bux to 32 which is it's max.
