   FINALLY! I've been trying to get this one out the door for weeks. Many of you helped shape the tone of this piece and I'm grateful for your input.

   If you decide to read it and/or share it, know that there are some generalizations and simplifications for the intended audience.

   I've been wanting to re-commit to spreading the good word of #Linux at Forbes in 2025, and this is the first step. Let's go!

     @killyourfm I'm not able to read the article on firefox in android. I'm getting a balck screen that says client side exception. On chrome it does work

     Thanks for the article. I'm an hour into trying Linux Mint out on the laptop. So far, so good. You are correct that there is a usage hurdle. I will persist and I have tech support son helping here and there.
     I think we're all trying to take steps to remove nosey big tech from our every move.

     @killyourfm I think the barrier to entry is installation and usage. Most Windows users never install Windows and don't t care to learn how. To expect that same pocket of users to now take their aging laptop that is probably underpowered and put Linux on it is a lot to ask. I think the people that are savvy enough to try and actually care about true hardware ownership are probably already running Linux or have made up their minds to stick with Windows. I am hoping to be completely wrong. What a concept in 2025 huh? Aspiring to be wrong about something.

     "Before we dive in, I want to acknowledge something: familiarity is comfortable, and change can be challenging! You may experience a slight learning curve using Linux, especially when your muscle memory is used to years of Windows. But that doesn’t mean using Linux is more difficult. It’s just different."

     @DiogoConstantino I agree with you, but see what happens if you disable it. This has happened with Firefox users on Android.

     (Note that I have no control over the website, but I will mention that my paycheck comes from ads being served)
