     @HebrideanHecate @Childfree @Chronic-Yonic Isn't it time that we, and especially the elites bringing them in, admit that they think differently to us? They come from a third world country, they have a different language which shapes their perception of the world, they have a different culture, faith, traditions and way of life. They are going to follow that. Humans are not a blank slate, soil isn't so magical that once someone crosses into a different country that they will think like the modern global liberals so desired of us all. Who knows what shit they have been through, what baggage they carry with them wherever they go, what is normalised for them? There aren't the services here for those in need in the west let alone the services needed for people from a war zone or going through experiences a lot of experts wouldn't know about from a third world country. There are incompatibilities here, and I think that is okay but that doesn't mean that we should be subjected to each other.

     @HebrideanHecate @sim @Childfree In 2007, I went back to school and studied in computer graphics with a guy that had just immigrated, with his young family, from Morocco. He spoke French perfectly, he was also a muslim. He told me he was not an active muslim, the only thing he did was follow the Ramadan.

     I had asked him if his wife wore a veil or something and he told me no, not all muslim women did, it depended on which type of muslim. She was a pharmacist and was studying to get her equivalency for the right to practice.

     He told me the thing that terrified him and his wife the most was the more radical islamists being accepted here now (their daughter was kindergarten level). They fled Morocco because of the mounting turmoil, turbulence and violence over there because of the islamists.

They love the *otherness* and enjoy promoting it as some kind of moral good. Most of us just go - look, somebody a bit different - and carry on, but some people have to advertise their specialness by proxy through banging on about other people's specialness as if the difference was automatically some sort of virtue.
