     TL;DR: The sitting SK president is a conservative and the liberals were winning the election so he declared martial law and banned all government proceedings and protests to "protect the government from North Korean interests" essentially

     I don't fully understand what's happening here but one piece of the puzzle is that the People's Party [who kroner appears to be calling "conservative"] is an IDU member. ie this is Stephen Harper's party which is somehow in power, declaring martial law etc

     it's pretty clear that stephen harper should be resisted and if they've already elected an opposition government with power over their legislature to resist him, then the government should actually respect the will of the people
     but on the other
     south korea is still dealing with a pandemic and now is not the time to be out in the streets, generally
     
     but i don't know enough of what's going on there to fully appreciate the situation
