🤔4B movement against Trump supporters? That makes very little sense.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/07/4b-movement-trump-women

Again, the majority of white women voters, voted for Trump🤷🏿♂️

37% of voters are white women, who voted 54% for Trump.

34% of voters are white men, who voted 60% for Trump.

So in total, white men contributed only ~2% more Trump votes than white women.

We keep trying to frame this election as something that men voters did to women. In reality, it's something that white voters did to everyone else.

My advice: no matter who wins or loses an election, don't date people that hate you and don't respect your bodily autonomy, regardless of their gender or race. 🤷🏿♂️

I think where it's coming from, is an intentional denial of who voted for Trump, and who didn't.🤷🏿♂️

A few weeks ago, we were pretending that spousal coercion in voting was a big problem that affected white women as victims. Now we're celebrating spousal coercion by white women as perpetrators. All while white women effectively did as much ballot box damage as white men.🙂🙃

We will do every ineffective thing, because our society is addicted to seeing white women only as victims.

@mekkaokereke Where I've seen this discussed, it's been by women who voted for Harris, whose partners said they would too, talked a big game about reproductive rights etc but then just... didn't vote.

I don't know if that's a statistically large group, and I agree that the right answer is that if your partner just sits on their arse and lets your safety be jeopardised then they shouldn't be your partner; but I do understand where it's coming from.

More people were mad at me for telling y'all what Black women thought about Ruth Bader Ginsburg's racism blind spots, than they were mad at RBG for having those blind spots. 🙂🙃

There is a direct line from the loss of reproductive rights today, and RBG not being aligned with Black women. RBG was profoundly uncurious about the most important issues impacting Black women, and the danger presented by racist white women. And now here we are. 🤷🏿♂️

@mekkaokereke as a poll worker, I did see some cases where a whole family came in and I was getting the impression that the father was dictating how everyone was going to vote (his wife and their adult children). In spite of the secret ballot, there's something to be said for that. But I also saw plenty of white women who appeared to be enthusiastically pro-Trump.

@mekkaokereke The real issue is that those numbers add up to 71% of votes in a country that's 58% white. Until we fix America's voter suppression problem, elections will keep getting decided by white people, and history has shown that most of us will keep prioritizing white supremacy.

@mekkaokereke Normalizing that you can reject a partner romantically for their politics is good whether it moves the needle or not. Some people are raised to be deferential or polite in wildly inappropriate situations.

      Of course!

      * You can reject your partner's advances for *any* reason. Including no reason at all.👍🏿

      * You can reject your partners' desire to have kids for *any* reason. Including no reason at all.👍🏿

Similar to the conversations about "You should be able to hide your vote from your partner," this is not at all an argument denying the prevalence of DV or coercion. This is 100% about rejecting the cynical attempt to mitigate the agency of white women in their own decisions and actions.

🤦🏿♂️Your use of the term "race blaming," your fragile hit dog hollering about "we are not all alike!" when I never said that we were all alike, and your "whadabout Latinos!", and your "Indigenous people are in Oklahoma!" tells me that any further interaction is likely to just bring more of that type energy to my mentions.

I don't need that, and I suspect that you don't either.

So instead I'll just disengage, and simply say, "Have a good day!" And "Bye!"

@mekkaokereke And where are your stats on Latino voters in Florida, Texas or Arizona? Race blaming is the wrong approach. Trust me, we're not all alike. In fact, I DIDN"T vote for Trump. I'm also a Cherokee, and I as I understand it, Trump ran away with Oklahoma, a state where many Native Americans are also citizens...

You don't want answers or engagement. And if you want anyone to EVER take you seriously, don't ever use that hip-hop / Millennial code again. It's fucking stupid.

@mekkaokereke just want to say thank you. As a white American woman with a feminist activist background, it took me way too long to learn that, on average, white American women are not even feminist, much less anti-racist

      I reject it.

Stop making excuses for the fact that there is not much difference between the amount of racism done by white men and white women.

Start leaving comments in racist white women's mentions instead.

@mekkaokereke A small but not insignificant proportion of white women will have not been given any choice about who to vote for, especially if they voted by mail.

      No. Counterpoint rejected.

You said "women under 30." Not "white women under 30."

"Women under 30" is another way of saying "blend in more Black, Latina, and Asian women to change the outcome."

Look at this chart and see how the mix of non-white women is significantly higher when you get under 30.

      https://hachyderm.io/@mekkaokereke/109609941910796255

Also notice how no generation of white people is significantly different from any other.

Counterpoint: the majority of white women who voted for Trump are old. Women under 30 voted for Harris by more than a 15% margin.
