Europe followed the US into Afghanistan. Then US voters elected Trump and he pulled the plug.

Europe let the US lead the defence of Ukraine. And now US voters have voted for Trump, who wants Putin to win.

Europe has centered it's security politics around a US led NATO, and American voters have now voted for Trump, who wants to pull out of NATO.

It is time for a stronger, more capable, and fully independent Europe.

For our generation, this is our Churchill moment — it is time to lead.

@anderspuck @randahl @potus These would be much smaller than your typical nuke. They are also called tactical nukes & they would take out a city block.

#Putin would use them to take out a military battalion. Or to force #Ukraine 🇺🇦 into surrendering.

@martinlentink @anderspuck @randahl @potus Putin (for good reason) fears the United States 🇺🇸. If Trump exits NATO, that would mean only the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 & France 🇫🇷 would have nukes (the rest of NATO’s nukes are owned & controlled by America 🇺🇸): https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_50068.htm

Putin is evil crazy, & I would not put it past him to use a nukes if America exits NATO. He is already attacking civilian targets & torturing non-combatants.

@anderspuck @randahl @potus I hope you are right (great video, thanks for the link). Putin is one of the few dictators who does not seem to care about harming civilians—or at least the image of appearing to harm civilians. Now we have to deal with Trump in the US. This is not fun! Sigh…

at this point it might even be preferential if he pulls out, key staff members of nato are american and under his command, if he pulls out, new european ones would have to be hired

@randahl I don’t think that it’s even necessary for the US to pull out of NATO. Trump1 mentioned that the US may not react if Russia invades a NATO member. That’s enough to damage NATO’s central promise. Voting for Trump2 is the end of it.
Unfortunately this means that Europe has to be able to defend itself without NATO. That means giving even more money/power to the military industrial complex and to open the door for future military conflicts with the US.
