People actually live like this when easy searchable solutions exists? I literally just installed newpipe again to check, it just works. Ublock Origin on mobile browser firefox also should work
@hj@coolboymew The thing is that techs are also responsible for this situation. Like again yesterday I got in a discussion with someone's who laptop got "diagnosed" and they couldn't repair it so they sold another one. I asked them if they would mind giving me the laptop to check. It took me less than 10 minutes to boot a usb stick with trisquel on it. And the diag papers sheet on says "hardware ok" nothing about that. Like bruh, my old boss or his employees just scammed someone.
@mangeurdenuage@coolboymew well they could have used that situation to justify buying new laptop that they wanted to buy anyway, 80% of people operate in binary, i.e. "buy new" or "lose interest". I for one tend to avoid buying used and selling, I pretty much buy new (or get gifted old) and give away for free, mostly because barter (and transportation) is too much effort for me.
Hell for some time I went like 12 kilometres to the electronics store to pick up new thing with my scooter just to avoid having to deal with mail/shipping and waiting (and to ride scooter, naturally). Some people just don't want to bother with some things, which is why they don't see it as a scam.
@weeble youtube usually has these already available and you can actually do this with emulated music formats, you can have them loop however long you want generally
@coolboymew@shitposter.world The one genuinely good feature they have is the ability to extend songs. You can have em loop to 15, 30 or 60 mins as if it's in-game
@hj@coolboymew > Some people just don't want to bother with some things, In this case the customer lost 700$ and it took 1 month to diagnose and replace.
@hj@coolboymew My point is that there's a decent human decency to do in commercial exchange. And in this case, like many cases, it isn't there at all. There's also a minimal of pedagogical work to avoid the current nightmare but again absolute 0 is done. And by not doing it not only the return on investment for the customer is negative but it's also negative for use as it will and is already leading to the destruction of our workfield.
@jeffcliff@hj@weeble there has been a shitload of ways to download games OST, whether it's official CD rips, game rips and emulated game music that has been online for decades now
@noyoushutthefuckupdad I didn't mind Internet ads when they were relatively unintrusive, but with the tracking crap, video ads, pop ups, rolling ads, etc. and video ads are just simply cancer on video sites
It's especially baffling because blocking all that shit is extremely easy
@coolboymew the last time I saw ads on the internet was when I had to de-crapify my mom's computer. I don't know how normalfags stand that shit; even as a kid in the 90s I would skip commercials on TV whenever I could.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad@coolboymew Accidentally missing 3 or 4 minutes of content by changing channels during a commercial break has and always will be worth it.
