     @Cleisthenes The problem is that construction is like infrastructure, a lot of problems can be hidden by a coat of paint, and the owners just make bank and say "it's not my problem" rather than paying themselves a middle class wage and being happy that they are building homes that families will love.

     @sickburnbro i had to reinstall some vinyl siding that blew off and found that instead of using nails that are specifically used for holding on siding, they simply stapled on all my siding... So I know it was a bunch of wetbacks that did that. Probably so they could churn out houses quicker and also faster ...

     @BroDrillard @sickburnbro granted they're largish staples. But yeah... I've seen several houses in my neighborhood in recent years that had big panels fly off. So it explained a lot. Those staples just come out after a years of wind and seasonal temperature changes.

     @sickburnbro @BroDrillard you're not supposed to use screws though from what I found about vinyl siding. Have to use short fat stubby nails with wide heads. And you don't nail them in all the way either. You're supposed to leave a small gap so the siding can breathe basically. It stretches and contracts with weather so it needs to be able to move slightly so it doesn't break. I wont ever buy a house with vinyl siding again... It can be loud in winter when its windy.
