   I've noticed the cognitive damage! Not at the time, but later, when I reviewed something I'd done and realized it showed impaired cognition. (It's glaringly obvious if you're a writer who starts each daily work session by revising what you did the day before.)

   I think we've probably all noticed a deterioration in road users since 2020, too. More aggressive/heedless driving, etc.

     @Milkman76 @glenatron @cstross Pretty sure that the USA didn't force Putin to invade Ukraine in 2014, nor again in 2021? Nor to support the Asad regime and force literally millions of refugees into the EU for his own ends over a decade?

     @glenatron @Dss @cstross I genuinely see this as eugenics, yeah. The state wants to start ANOTHER series of non defensive wars and is literally aiming at a world war against russia, china and/or the BRICS nations because those nations are doing well. This is horrifying, dead-end, Feudalist thinking, but killing off large numbers of elderly and disabled people would be a strategy to prepare economically for a large war. You can see them doing it, planning it, etc.

     @glenatron @cstross didn't people WANT to protect themselves and their loved ones from lead once this was understood? I see people all around me ignoring *years* of increasingly credible, ever-growing COVID/PASC data, and just... not doing a damn thing to try to stop spreading it.

     The right wing have won the battle to keep most people from masking. Apparently in the USA not even medical staff do it any more! Like they did before covid even existed!

     @Dss @Milkman76 @cstross I think there's a Malthusian component to the way the wealthy and the far right have responded to the pandemic. They buy into the idea that overpopulation is a problem and saw an ideal opportunity to cull the poor, the disabled and the elderly. An incredible bonus for them that it also has cognitive impacts, because there's nothing like brain damage to turn people to right-wing politics.
