I have my ranking, and you're all going to disagree with me! cackles
- Prequelle (I ride or die for this album. Perfect pop record, no notes, adore the retro interpolations and references)
- Imperia (it was a grower, I'll admit, but I honestly really like what's going on here)
- Meliora (I know it's the house favourite, and I see why - there's some absolute bangers in here - but I think the other albums have a more consistent identity in many ways)
- Opus Eponymous - peak psych doom Ghost, this is the version of the band I bounced off when I saw them live. I now appreciate what's going on here, and like it very much, in fact, but it's not as much for me as later Ghost. We can already see Tobias Forge's love of interpolation coming in, such as the little stylistic references to King Diamond and Mercyful Fate (c.f. Ritual and Return of the Vampire)
- Infestissumam (I was late getting into Ghost, so this isn't my era of the band, but I really do like this album's uncomplicated satanic vibes and psychedelic influences rather a lot now)
3 & 4 could easily swap, depending on my mood.
If all the covers EPs were wrapped into a single album, they're be in the number 2 or 3 slot, though.
Ghost are really bloody good at cover versions.
Seven Inches and The Future is a Foreign Land singles are also great, but I'm not yet sure how they'll tie in with the next studio album.
