So I made a #Queen playlist for #metalheads (and people who say they don't like Queen).

It has it all, 18 songs full of speed, thrash, lots of prog, some epic doom.
Solos, riffs, drama (lots of drama) and power ballads. And synth pop.

What? There's a #Fallout TV series?

Yes, I guess I've been living under a rock, but all I knew was there were talks about it.

Happy birthday to me then 🥳

(It is not my actual birthday, but this feels like a birthday gift, I am a huge Fallout fan)

Honestly I am really happy and proud of myself that I managed a full month without sweets. It was "secretly eating sweets" bad before.

Replace that with drinking alcohol and you are a full blown alcoholic.

Today is the last day of my "No Sweets no Snacks January" aka #NoSweetsForAMonth

I know this is not interesting for most of you, but doing this in public keeps me motivated and focused.

So time for a little retrospective🧵

Why am I doing this?

a) I eat too much sweets (waaay to much)
b) Jan 1st I stepped on the scales for the first time in a long time and couldn't believe my eyes.

Never in my entire life had I ever >90kg. My feel-good weight is below 80.

According to the BMI my normal weight would be between 60 and 75, which if absolutely ridiculous given my body type. I am that broad shoulders type, I have the gift of building up muscles in no time, but I also have the gift of building up fat in no time 😂

So, what is my goal? Well, below 80 would be great, 75 would be awesome and 73 would be my dream weight.

Some years ago I managed to get to 75 (starting from 85) quite fast, but you know, Jojo effect...

So this time, I need to do this slowly and sustainable.

Sweets are my biggest weakness and I wanted to prove to myself that I can do a full month without them.
And I am happy to say that I managed to do that. But I also noticed that my desire for sweets basically disappeared.
It was hard at times, esp. when your mum bakes the best looking muffins you'll ever see.

But it was worth it. My main takeaway: I feel way less tired.

Another bad habbit of mine was snacks. No Netflix'n'chill without crisps, nuts, ... anything actually.

Also throughout the day I would get snacks between meals.

I stopped that and I plan to keep it that way.

Another thing I changed was breakfeast. No bakery products with jam, yoghurt with muesli insted.

The other meals I didn't change, regardless if they are healthy or not. But I noticed that I eat way less now compared to a month ago.

Lastly: more activity. I started running again and I hope to keep that up.

One thing that kept me motivated was stepping on the scales every morning and noting down the weight when I am at home. No excuses.

So, where am I at?

Still way too much, but babysteps. I am happy with the progress. I hope to lose ~2kg per month.

Tomorrow I will get myself a Mars bar. But I plan a no sweets at home rule for the future.

Let's see how it goes, I will report even in case of failure.
