     GrapheneOS installed! kudos to the developers who make it super simple, even for a noob like me! the web installer is a blessing. used it twice now without any issues and it only takes 10 minutes!!!! :mashiroThankYou:

     when you dock the Pixel Tablet with GrapheneOS, it will automagically switch the speaker to the dock speaker. and it's quite good :comfy: so the dock is not quite as useless as I thought.

     @kaia@brotka.st I was going to go to the store today to see if they had one in stock for my daughter. Want something simple I can load up with movies for her to watch. Had been trying to use an old iPad but it was so slow that basically nothing worked + it was virtually impossible to put anything on it without a Mac to interface it with.

     @adiz the display is alright and its speed is okay. reviewers disliked that it's only 60Hz, but that's enough for movies and helps save battery. I think it would be a great option for your daughter. I don't have a shell yet and there are only few available. I have not seen a robust one for kids like Amazon has for their Fire Tablets.

     @kaia@brotka.st She's old enough that she's not really going to break it. It'd mostly be for trips and airplanes and stuff where she'd be sitting down anyway, not much means by which for her to break it. And, if she didn't like it, it could be a nice content consumption machine. Better than an iPad, I really dislike iPads---had the original Google Pixel tablet years ago, like in 2013 or whenever it came out, and it was really solid and enjoyable to use.

     @kaia It's useful as a stand for charging and giving it better audio. It's unfortunate that it doesn't have a USB hub since you can't use both the USB-C port and stand pogo pins USB connection at the same time. The one that's connected first blocks the other from being used.
