   @BeAware I'd love to run my own instance, but I don't do linux yet, and honestly I don't have the energy to deal with moderation and all that comes with it, even for a single account instance.

   So long as users have the ability to launch their own instances, regardless what the big wig fuckers say or do on their lofty pirches, which is the majority of the point of federation to begin with, I'm a supporter of Fedi.

   So if he wants to run his name and the branding into the ground and be one of those dumbasses, let him. Fedi exists now and it's not going anywhere at this point.

   Still, moderation tools are very important, as I learned the other day. lol

     @LavenderPawprints also, to touch on the "running your own instance" thing...honestly, I don't think it would be good for you.

     EVERYTHING is "opt-out". Meaning, since there's dozens of new instances every day, there's also a handful of bad ones every week. So you'd have to literally live on Fediblock and Fediseer and make sure to stay on top of Oliphant's updates.

     It would be quite stressful, I think.

     I don't even do all of those things because they're too much to keep up with. However, I am not a visually impaired transgirl with major depression, anxiety, and past addiction issues, if you know what I mean. Because of who you are, it would be harder because you're someone that people look to attack, and that's really unfortunate.😔

     @BeAware So. As I don't follow nearly as closely as you do, especially from the technical side of things, how does Glitch differ from stock?

     I'm on a Glitch instance and wonder how these things would effect instances like ours..

     Like I said, I don't have the energy for it. Even if I wasn't constently at war with myself over control of my emotional state,

     If I had to deal with what I went through the other afternoon on the regular...Yeah no. We're just not gonna. Don't wanna. lol
