Hey Shiplap! Why you no drive on American bridges?

@Appelmoesje With today's knowledge, bridges that last a thousand years would be easy. But the 'planned lifespan' at the time of construction is 50 years. Yeah, let future generations fix the problems...

@Diogenese_Shiplap no.. things don't last that long. things need to be repaired and cared about. And that has stopped, because profits.
nigger and diversity problems only came after all jew problems, try and remember that while the usa collapses.

@Diogenese_Shiplap The collapse is real, worse, it is planned like this.

@Diogenese_Shiplap planned for 50y is for dwellings, for 100years is public buildings. 150-200 years is for infrastructure.. But they are not build to last that, it is plannend maintenance that gets u there..
Except, these are strict europe german rules, not usa.

@Appelmoesje I've looked at specs for a few federal bridges and the fine print always shows less than the required 150 year lifespan, so I just typed 50. Contractors always lie, cheat and cut corners anyway. Then pay off inspectors. That's why a guy making 52K yearly as an inspector can live in a really nice house.

@Diogenese_Shiplap lifespan includes maintenance to a point it gets to expensive..
Some buildings made to last 50 do 100. some do 20 with no maintenance. Bridges made of steel wil rust if not painted on time and proper.
>Contractors always lie, cheat and cut corners anyway. Then pay off inspectors. That's why a guy making 52K yearly as an inspector can live in a really nice house.
Lol,, not over here. corruption that insane sounds like brazil levels.

@MoralPanic @Appelmoesje Yep, I should have been more clear and stated 'government contractors'.

As a person of contracts I can attest that the prevailing attitude is that I'm here to complete a task then move on somewhere else, there is no incentive besides checking off the boxes, this is in private business. Imagine how much these government guys get away with being overseen by incompetent diversity hires.

@MoralPanic @Appelmoesje @Diogenese_Shiplap It depends on the job. Compartmentalization is a real thing but it's not like workers won't talk. I guarantee every major government job gets at least a few dudes who know how to spot something off. But they do absolutely overcharge the government on the bidding and actually have to since everyone else is and middle bid is often required for federal $ projects.

@BowsacNoodle @MoralPanic @Diogenese_Shiplap There is money to be made with government, the expensieve guys are checked and need to deliver top quality and ask more money time.
Also, no usa here, not comparable, north west europe.

@Appelmoesje @Diogenese_Shiplap How are the roads over there? I've heard expressways seldom have issues because the concrete is several feet thick or something far superior to filthy Gaijin American roads.

@skylar @Appelmoesje @Diogenese_Shiplap @MoralPanic You're not wrong. Unions are one of the things help in these cases though. If you're an ironworker and you mention something about the quality of the steel, your local's reputation is at stake and the guy running your crew might want to check with one of the more experienced guys to see if he noticed anything and at least try to make sure things are covered. A buddy of mine used to be an officer in his union and said that he'd always pair the A listers up with the C listers so there'd be at least one guy who could spot problems.

@BowsacNoodle @Appelmoesje @Diogenese_Shiplap @MoralPanic and what do you do if you spot something off in the modern workplace?
you pretend you didn't and keep your damn mouth shut, lest you be voluntold to fix it with mandatory overtime, and later get pulled into a meeting with HR and a manager from the home office 2500 miles away because your productivity metrics are below average. they don't know you're taking the time to find and fix serious problems before they cause an expensive and dangerous failure, and they don't care, the computer says you're a bad employee.

@BowsacNoodle @Diogenese_Shiplap Do you know in wich european country iam.. i dont care for the doxx. but it matters in this question..
When we go out our country south the road instantly sucks.. if we go out east it is fine for a long time.
Our roads are pristine, but small country.

This
monstrosity speaks to me as brutalism, communist architecture. Soulless.
Europe has the most beautiful buildings in the world. Many are hundreds of years old.
Why can't buildings be beautiful any more?

@Thusnelda @Diogenese_Shiplap @skylar @BowsacNoodle @MoralPanic beauty is a very subjective matter, architects disagree among each other and refuse to discuss out group. i know because iam one.

@Appelmoesje @Diogenese_Shiplap @Thusnelda @skylar @MoralPanic I wonder if it's from the amount of nepotism they engage in as a whole choking out the potential creatives and cream of the crop. Spielberg is a good director, for example, and certainly better than George Lucas. I could see echo chambers like media becoming quickly damped by yes-men with all the nepotism.

@Thusnelda @Appelmoesje @skylar @BowsacNoodle @MoralPanic Because jews. They detest beauty so naturally want beautiful White Architecture to be replaced. They collect art only for it's value, never for it's beauty.
