300k TC?! 🤣🤣🤣 Maybe if you got hired right in the idiot 2020 Amazon boom where they over-hired at insane rates. I've been a senior devops admin on teams managing 6+ subsidiaries, insane terraform scripts and nearly a dozen K8S clusters and topped out less than half of that.

Marketing positions are the easiest to cut. She's bitching about not getting into tech, but she hasn't had a single actual tech position.

@MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil Yeah, she claims she is an engineer but by that she of course means software engineering, which in her case means fake email job and occasionally writing some superfluous backend code or some such, people like that could be entirely eliminated without much of a problem, which is why they were. People in actual tech/STEM jobs basically will always make consistently good money because their skills are pretty much always needed by someone. It also doesn't help her that she went for dipship name recognition instead of "stable job that pays well"

These bitches never had a job in actual tech to start with. I’ve worked in tech for three decades now and nothing they have ever talked about resembles tech jobs like the ones I’ve had in the trenches. That’s why they were laid off. Ten thousand of these whiny harpies are not worth one hour of my knowledge and experience. I wish nothing but suffering for them.

@MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil These are the cunts who would immediately cry to HR to get the autistic programmer with social anxiety (who does an ACTUAL job) fired because he looked at them weirdly. Something I saw them actually fucking admit online doing already.
So fuck them. No fucking compassion whatsoever.

I did devops for ~3 years and glad I went out and am back in development. It wasn't that bad for me on devops; the whole team was competent and people could take vacations without worry. I once got an on-call alert on Thanksgiving, but thankfully we all got on a call and figured it out in under an hour.

I got a few major things merged in last week and am off the next few days; with no way of getting any calls or alerts.

@Zucchini @MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil I'm not a programmer, but I work in infrastructure and datacenter projects.
Tomorrow I'm coming back from a 2 week vacation. I had to work remotely in some shape or form at least half of these days, because there was always something "that I knew better and could do easier than the people who were there". Usually at night.

@Suzu @MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil Real programmer jobs go like this:

I got in early to try to get ahead of problems today
Holy fuck it's 1:30pm and I have not eaten in so long I have a headache better overpay for delivery food so I have something on my stomach
Holy fuck it's 7:30pm I guess I can go home now so I can sleep so I can get in early to get a head start on the problems of the day and get to leave on time

@MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil same. I've been working in tech for about 20 years now (God I'm old), and I can't see a way for AI to replace me in what I do, and even less for a diversity hire to use AI tools to do what I do.

If you see all those stupid "my day working at x" videos, it was 90% women with stupid decorative titles, like diversity manager, marketing consultant, community leader or shit like that.

These assholes don't do shit except eat, bitch about people who actually get the work done, send emails, and do Zoom meetings.

@MeanwhileInOhio @PraxisOfEvil yeah, I'm noticing that a lot of these "jobs" involve things like "Diversity Cheerleader", "Marketing Expert", and "People Operations"

in other words, all of the plush sinecures to stuff niggers and useless women into are evaporating along with the budgets for them

There is no pay gap. If women were doing the same work then they would be getting the same money. We have had those laws since 1968.

What there is is an earnings gap. Men do more work, better work, harder work and dirtier work. That means they earn more.

And this has been adjusted by creating lots of non-productive high-status jobs for women who are good at filling out worksheets and following rules, and then kneecapping men at every stage from birth to death.

Well, guess what? You've achieved equality of outcome. There aren’t many men to “date up” to. Those men who have somehow overcome the constant kneecapping have so many options that women who want them have to wait in the bullpen for their turn with Chad.

And then women wonder why men aren’t “loyal” and “honest”

It’s because you’re all dating the same guy, dummy, and it happened because you used the power of government to transfer wealth from men to women.

      Just venting I guess.

      not married yet

it’s hard to explain to a 20something woman what being a 40something divorced man is like

      you can’t have everything

the best you can do is find a woman with a combination of red flags that you can live with

And she is a fabulously successful career woman; but she’s not a gainsayer or dick measurer. She creates space for me to be the man of the house, which is something that my ex never did.
