     1) make a bunch of toots
     2) pin one of the early ones
     3) make a bunch more toots
     when you go to your profile later - the point in the timeline where the pinned toot happens basically skips everything between the point where the toot was made, and when it was pinned. this can be years of toots that will just disappear
