ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:29:39 JST ChristopherBRobin Definitely it’s much harder than I anticipated. I lost 5 pounds in the last week because I’ve only been eating lunch and dinner. -

ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:34:21 JST ChristopherBRobin I've been averaging 4.5 days/week this month so far, I'm running out of protein though I've been supplementing with a few scoops of powder a day but I need more actual food which I'm not eating enough of. Need more chicken and rice. Tomorrow when I head into the office I'm going to the grocery store next door and stocking up there. How are your goals progressing? -

NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:34:21 JST NEETzsche Gradually, but on schedule. I'm going in the opposite direction. I need to lose weight, so I lift and focus on eating primarily protein. Are you having trouble paying for food?

ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:37:51 JST ChristopherBRobin Very nice, and not even close lol my issue is more that I don't feel hungry enough. In the mornings I'll skip breakfast and just drink some water usually that will keep me feeling full until lunch time but for my plans I should be eating a small meal about every 2 hours since waking up but I'm not acting aggressively enough towards my goals. NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:44:00 JST NEETzsche So I should tell you what I've been doing to lose weight while also gaining muscle. People say it's impossible, but that's bullshit. I've decided I'm going to lose 3lbs/wk. So each day, my goal weight drops by (3/7)lb. I weigh myself in after midnight, since I'm a night-owl and I'm often up then. If I'm above the weight limit, I don't eat at all, period, and I rest that day. If I'm below the weight limit, I lift and eat whatever I want.
This isn't "intermittent fasting." It's fasting. And it's not even on a specific schedule. It's on the schedule of the scale, and I can weigh myself as many times each day as I need to until it's below the limit. Sometimes the fast ends halfway through a day. Occasionally I have multiple fast days in a row, but that's uncommon. And yes, if I have a fast day the weight limit *still* goes down then.
It's working. What I can lift is going up (muscle gain) and my measured weight is going down (fat loss), simultaneously.

NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:51:27 JST NEETzsche So far it's been just lifting but I might include long walks in the cold on days where I'm not lifting. The thinking is I should be doing things that boost metabolism, and oddly enough, being out in the cold does. Body needs to generate heat.
What's your bench at now?

ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 20:51:28 JST ChristopherBRobin Yeah you can definitely lose weight and gain muscle at the same time I see no reason why not. You'd especially want to since increasing muscle mass would help burn more calories throughout the day anyways. That's a pretty solid routine, do you toss in any cardio as well or just lifting weights? NEETzsche likes this. -

NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 21:03:53 JST NEETzsche I take 200mg caffeine in a pill as a supplement, but not more than that. My bench is currently at 275lbs and I'm trying to get back up to 3plate, which is 315lbs.

ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 21:03:54 JST ChristopherBRobin Not a bad idea, you could also drink more coffee too since the caffeine acts as a good metabolism booster as well.
So far I haven't tried breaking through another PR, after New Years I've just been focusing on increasing the amount of volume I can lift. But I've been benching 185 more consistently, at the end of December I was could only do 3 sets of 185 for 5 reps now I'm pushing 8-9 reps a set. But I'm also wary of pushing too hard since back in November I fucked up my shoulder trying to go too heavy and lifting with bad form, though I've been working on that and so far working with dumbbells doing bench has helped remove any muscle imbalances. In any case I'm lifting more now than I was in November. But I'll push for another PR lift after I can hit and maintain 10 reps a set. What's your bench at? -

NEETzsche (neetzsche@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 21:09:27 JST NEETzsche I've been lifting for years on and off. In college my limit was 4pl8 but starting in mid 2020 and ending around early 2022 I was kind of in a rut. I "radicalized." Then I tried "de-radicalizing." It didn't work. Now I'm "re-radicalized." But in a much calmer way. I want to lose weight not to be attractive, but to be healthy. I want the power to create children and to end lives. This computer nerd shit doesn't cut it.

ChristopherBRobin (christopherbrobin@iddqd.social)'s status on Wednesday, 31-Jan-2024 21:21:20 JST ChristopherBRobin I've been considering making more smoothies out of greek yogurt and frozen fruit since that doesn't sound too bad. My only issue is I'm lazy but definitely it's not a bad idea. NEETzsche likes this. -

i.e. via smoothies and whatnot.
eating a ton of food is hard, but for me, putting them in a more liquid state makes it easier for me. -
