So I should tell you what I've been doing to lose weight while also gaining muscle. People say it's impossible, but that's bullshit. I've decided I'm going to lose 3lbs/wk. So each day, my goal weight drops by (3/7)lb. I weigh myself in after midnight, since I'm a night-owl and I'm often up then. If I'm above the weight limit, I don't eat at all, period, and I rest that day. If I'm below the weight limit, I lift and eat whatever I want.
This isn't "intermittent fasting." It's fasting. And it's not even on a specific schedule. It's on the schedule of the scale, and I can weigh myself as many times each day as I need to until it's below the limit. Sometimes the fast ends halfway through a day. Occasionally I have multiple fast days in a row, but that's uncommon. And yes, if I have a fast day the weight limit *still* goes down then.
It's working. What I can lift is going up (muscle gain) and my measured weight is going down (fat loss), simultaneously.
