I don't know if I want to continue with starting strength or not because my upper body doesn't look much different than it did when I started and 3 days of squats a week is killing my back - BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this.

I owned a small business as a tannery for a few years, I made and sold about 600 sheepskins during that time. It's a lot of physical labor. -

@tyler @shedinja I squat and deadlift heavy once a week. I did legs 2x a week when I was younger and even then I think it was overkill. Now that I'm in my 30s it takes longer to recover. -

I jest, king.
Yeah I'm slowly working back up.
Since I stopped doing sheepskins my physical fitness has suffered. I used to be able to do 100 pushups in 2 mins.
Now I can probably hit 80 but I'm out of commission for at least 4 days. -

@shedinja there could be a few reasons for the back pain aside form just overdoing it (still learning proper technique and strengthening stabilizing muscles)
I would say stick with it if it's only been 6 weeks. It definitely takes time and a bit of trial and error to figure out what works for you, but you will figure it out. And once you do, you'll never doubt the process again. -

@Smirking Yeah back thing is from a previous injury + sitting all day for work, it's not unbearable but idk if it can handle squats 3x a week -

@Smirking Pretty good besides my back, app I'm tracking calories with says I need 3600 calories a day but I usually get over 4000 -
