The only ones comparable to these that I know if are SaladMaster but you have to buy through a representative because the company is direct sales / MLM. I wouldn't say they're an evil MLM like Cutco, Amsoil, etc but the prices are astronomical even though their products are fantastic.
i've got a couple low frying pans that have a ceramic coating which i like, problem is some joker always wants to use metal shit on them and so they dont last long, but for non stick that's been my go to recently
@dictatordave non-stick pans are all garbage and I'm staying far far away from Teflon because even one mistake of "oops i let the pan get too hot" or "oops I scratched the coating" and now you're being exposed to some really serious carcinogens, so I only trust quality stainless steel and cast iron for my frying pans
I really don't have issues with stuff "sticking" either
@feld yea we got rid of all our pans that had non stick coatings and what not, i just find that my stainless frying pans just can't help but make things stick or i have to use a fuck ton of fats to stop it from happening, and i'm not allowed to use the cast iron on the new stove lol
i can't remember the name of the one ceramic frying pans the wife picked up, she did a bunch of research after she woke up and freaked out about the pervasive chemical contamination in the world
@black6_@dictatordave if it required the interaction with nitrates in food then why were the employees all getting cancer and having massive birth defects at DuPont?
@feld@dictatordave Teflon itself is a large and stable enough molecule when polymerized that it doesn't react with much of anything, being already fully oxidized. Nitrates get reduced to nitric oxide in the stomach which in turn become nitric acid, which can start to decompose Teflon (and other fluoropolymers) into their constituent mers, such as PFOA and PFAs, that then go on to wreak carcinogenic havok. There are other methods of action but that's the main one associated with Teflon cookware.
@feld Why would anyone in their right mind call a steel item "Titanium"? Sounds like false advertising. Also! 1810 is just fine. I have a n1810 set that is more than 30 years old.
