     @jimmybuffettfanaccount Despite having such an enormous focus on nebulous concepts such as "mental health," zoomers' main interest in psychology basically boils down to "how I can pathologize all my weird quirks and social dysfunction to justify my nonsense with medical authority backing me so that I don't have to change or better myself;" they have zero actual interest in the field, what words actually mean and don't even care about the psychological harm they do to themselves (and even sometimes outright deny it, see: social contagions).
     
     From autism to the most general definition of "anxiety," you hear these excuses in spades from the zoomers because for all their feigned interest in psychology, the word "malingering" doesn't exist in their lexicon (because the places they learn this behavior from want them to victimize themselves since being "broken" makes them special and makes being weak a core part of their identity).
     
     Zoomers pathologize even spacing out, as you're noticing. Every last thing is a medical quirk so they don't have to change. Everything they do is justified because of some poorly-understood (on their part) psychology term they can just throw out to evade criticism or corrective action.

     @Owl @jimmybuffettfanaccount Don't forget that all of that is further reinforced by (((psychologists))) and (((pharmaceutical companies))) to get zoomers hooked on expensive medication that will only fuck them up further. Calling this vicious cycle "vile" is reductive at best.

     @Owl @jimmybuffettfanaccount Good assessment, on behalf of zoomers I can confirm over half my peers are “mentally ill” and have “trauma.”

     There’s also a downward spiral happening where psychologists confirm the self-diagnosis, and everyone entering psychology is messed in the head. My roommate is going into counseling, and he’s the exact type of person I would never let my future kids be around.

I know a guy who legit is mentally busted and will literally actually panic under the slightest inconveniences and the therapist appears to have taught him the words abandonment trauma and caregiver fatigue and given him absolutely zero actionable advice.
