@FeartnTired @ArtistBristol @GrumpyOldNurse You absolutely can condemn both at the same time, and I wish more people were willing to say that. I think it says something about the need for radical feminism that a lot of "mainstream" and accepted feminists don't center women in how they few world events. It's like, well I'm a supporter of this issue first, like it's primary to their sex-based oppression, and any women on the other side are enemies, etc., and fair game. Feminism has been defanged, it's formless and purposeless, as it's expressed out loud in most spaces. It takes a backseat to whatever other consciousness (class, race, religion, etc) women espouse, because anything that focuses on women MUST take a backseat. I'm not saying that's not their right to focus on whatever they please, but to me it just speaks to the need for radfem discourse. And why it's so hard to have radfem consciousness raising.

@kfaythe87 @GrumpyOldNurse @ArtistBristol I can condemn oppression and rape at the same time. I'd sarcastically say I'm clever like that, but apparently that is actually clever these days, and a minority position.
There are women I hate - due to the damage they have done, mostly politically rather than actually barehands violence. But while I do hate them, I don't wish they'd get raped. If rape is in any sense justifiable it'll come for all of us eventually. Same with prostitution and so forth, if any women is for sale, every woman is for sale. If any woman is a stupid bitch who should stay home then.... you see. That's the bit of Dworkin telling us to support all women I can grasp.
It's just *some* women make it hard. And I struggle. Because I either don't respect them or actively hate them or possibly both.
But rape is not justified.
If we're going to torture our enemies we need to be open and evenhanded about it. Trials and other old fashioned things. I'm not saying pain and punishment should not exist, I'm saying we need to be careful about letting stuff happend, like rape, and then saying 'she deserved it'.

@ArtistBristol I have seen so many women saying things like - "I don't condemn any violence perpetrated against an oppressing force..." and the implication there is that even rape is "okay." I don't know how we got to this point, that political ideologies trump basic humanity and excuse male violence towards women, whatever side.

@kfaythe87 @ArtistBristol The other thing is, where's the class analysis? The people getting raped and murdered are pretty much never the ones who made the policy that oppressed them in the first place.
The innocent are always most of the victims in any war.
