     @parker @elaine @annika I was attracted to communism because every workplace was dysfunctional, and every boss was an incompetent idiot. I have now accepted that communism does not work, but the conditions that attracted me to it are still very real, so as a compromise I merely trimmed the beard but did not shave it off.

     I refuse to play the game. I play my own game. It's only by a twist of fate that my game has happened to coincide with "the game" at just the right time for me to be mildly successful right now. But I am inches away from ruin at any time due to the inherent person that I am.

     In my view, it's state intervention in the first place that causes dysfunctional workplaces. Given the large supply of free VC dollars, companies can afford to be dysfunctional, since they can always get more from the money printer to make up for their poor practices.

     In a capitalist system anyone with the knowhow could open a bank, practice medicine, law, engineering, be an electrician or a plumber, or devise a payment processing system.
     
     It's all about who you know because you simply can't get anything done without the state greasing the skids or at least getting out of the way.
     
     In a free market restrictive covenants were a thing. You could have an eternally jew-free neighborhood as covenants were theoretically perpetual.
