    You used to seem smart if you could use big words, and lots of them.

    Now you're smart if you can communicate the same thing with fewer, simpler words.

      @jeremiah It's true. I think the academic journals are the ones responsible for making everyone equate grandiose words with intelligence.

      @victor you were always smart if you could communicate with few words: "brevity is the soul of wit."

      @chainsaw_appreciator I guess the most intelligent ones of all know their audience and can tailor the message. There's a lot to be said for eloquent speech, but only if the listener can appreciate it.

      When speaking to trannies, just saying "faggot" and attaching a stolen meme goes a lot further than trying to explain the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah.

      I used to speak very eloquently, mitwits resented me for it, they thought I was talking down to them.
      Now I use short words and say nigger a lot, and it works much better.

      @threalist @Goalkeeper I think it was a pretty big wake-up call for a lot of academics (alas, still too few) when ChatGPT was able to write the same nonsense as them and appear to have 160 IQ.

      It depends on the meaning of the big words. The point of big words is to use fewer of them. The problem is people use word salad when they have nothing to say while seemingly saying a lot.

      @Eiswald @Goalkeeper That's why this meme is so powerful. Succinct, unambiguous, and firm.

      @Goalkeeper @victor I've got a friend like this.
      Fucking faggot needs to write a goddamn novella to not even answer a yes or no question. Lately it's been really pissing me off and I've started calling him out on his God awful communication skills.
      Nigger literally made a big deal about CALLING ME to ask me a yes or no question because 'He didn't want to type that many words'.

      Just don't get it. Don't understand how there are people who can't just compress what they want to say to base components besides it literally being pilpul or NPC shit.

      That's because peer reviewed papers are all recycled material from other peer reviewed papers. The amount of actual research that gets published is probably less than 1%
